Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn seeks a Surgical Technologist OR to scrub on all procedures under a licensed nurse, ensuring sterile technique and timely preparation of instruments.

Under RN supervision, you will assist in procedures, manage supplies, support safety standards, and participate in quality improvement efforts.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, NBSTSA certification, and BLS; effective communication with the team is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NBSTSA Surgical Technologist certification required upon hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited program preferred; NYU Langone Surgical Tech program graduate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room under licensed nurse supervision.
• Assist the physician in procedural areas and anticipate needed supplies.
• Maintain knowledge of instruments and equipment, ensure sterility and proper handling.
• Assist as a secondary circulator and report any deviations to RN Circulator.
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable and contribute to safety and quality improvements.
