Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the surgeon during operative procedures and maintain sterile technique under RN supervision. The role requires ensuring sterile fields, instrument readiness, and adherence to safety standards.

One year of OR experience preferred, with completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS certification. Regular status in a hospital setting with rotating shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sterile field setup and maintenance.
• Familiarity with instruments, supplies and equipment for surgery.
• Understanding of hospital policies and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare OR and environment before patient arrival.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are available for the case.
• Consult surgeon's preferences and verify the chart and supplies.
• Maintain sterility and handle medications on the field per orders.
• Assist in positioning patient and draping per standards.
• Pass instruments and anticipate surgeon needs during the procedure.
• Assist with room turnover and cleaning of the OR.
