Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking a Surgical Scrub Technologist to support the operative team. The role involves handling instruments, maintaining sterile field, and assisting the surgeon throughout the procedure.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and ideally graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program, with less than 1 year of experience. Certification requirements include NBSTSA as applicable and CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program is required or in accreditation.
• Less than 1 year of experience as a Surgical Scrub Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Assists surgical team before, during, and after surgery with setup, draping, and passing instruments.
• Performs counts for sponges, needles, and instruments and ensures sterile technique.
• Assists with patient positioning and prep for the next procedure; cleans the OR after procedures.
