Job summary

Mercyhealth in California is seeking a Surgical Scrub Technologist to support the operating room team. You will prepare sterile field, scrub, gown, and pass instruments, ensuring patient safety and adherence to aseptic technique throughout procedures.

The role requires a GED or high school diploma, plus completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program or current accreditation process, with NBSTSA certification preferred and CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program or active accreditation process.
• NBSTSA certification preferred; CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and assists the surgeon and team as needed.
• Scrubs, gowns, gloves, sets up sterile table, and passes instruments during surgery.
• Prepares sterile dressings and assists in prepping the room for the next patient.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities.
