Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the Surgical Services Perioperative Team. The CST will scrub and/or second assist, uphold sterile technique, and help ensure safe, efficient patient care throughout procedures.

Requirements include NBSTSA or NCCT certification and AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers, with experience in a high-volume operating room preferred.

Qualifications

• Required NBSTSA Surgical Technologist Certification or NCCT Surgical Technologist Certification.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the Surgical Services Perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Prepares the operating room and equipment, drapes tables, and arranges supplies.
• Maintains sterile technique and follows policies for counts of sponges, sharps and instruments.
• Assists and positions patient as needed and gowns/drapes surgeon and assistants.
• Participates in pre-brief, time-out and debrief of procedures and supports continuous improvement.
• Delivers patient care and customer service with professionalism and confidentiality.
