Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Bend OR team. The CST will function as part of the perioperative unit, performing scrub or second assisting duties and maintaining sterile technique under OR policies.

Critical responsibilities include facilitating instrument flow, preparing the room, and assisting with patient positioning and counts. Eligible for relocation bonus; shift differentials apply for evenings, weekends, and nights.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP/ABHES accredited program or military CST program.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT CST certification and BLS required.
• One year of high-volume OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe sterile environment and assist surgical team.
• Prepare OR, instrument tables and supplies for procedures.
• Pass instruments and maintain aseptic technique throughout cases.
• Assist in patient positioning and gowning per protocol.
• Participate in pre-brief, time-out and debrief steps.
• Break down cases and ensure proper decontamination of instruments.
