Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for the Bend OR. The CST will function as part of the perioperative team, maintaining sterile technique and supporting the surgeon and staff throughout procedures.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited program, NBSTSA or NCCT cert, and BLS. The role offers relocation bonus eligibility and shift differentials for evenings, weekends, and nights.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited surgical tech program or military equivalent.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT surgical technologist certification.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
• Basic experience with computer applications to record time and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and equipment for procedures.
• Drape and gown sterile fields and assist during surgery.
• Pass instruments and maintain sterile technique throughout cases.
• Participate in pre-brief, time-out, and debrief activities.
• Assists with equipment and checks for malfunctions.
• Maintains sterile technique and follows safety policies.
• Participates in pre-brief, time-out, and debrief.
• Assists in patient positioning and gowning.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and prepares dressings.
• Delivers customer service and patient care with goodwill.
• Participates in patient/family education about the surgical process.
• Performs duties as Second Assist Technologist when needed.
• Breaks down cases and decontaminates instruments.
