Job summary

St. Charles Health System Inc. is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to join the Surgical Services Perioperative Team in the Redmond area.

The role involves maintaining a sterile environment, preparing the OR, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons during procedures. Required licensure and education include NBSTSA or NCCT certification, and completion of an accredited program. BLS is also required; 1 year of OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program or military surgical technologist program.
• Current NBSTSA Surgical Technologist Certification or NCCT Surgical Technologist Certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the Surgical Services Perioperative team, ensuring safe, efficient patient care.
• Prepares the operating room and supplies, drapes the sterile field, and passes instruments to the surgeon.
• Maintains sterile technique and follows aseptic practices throughout procedures.
• Participates in counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments and assists as Second Assist Technologist when needed.
• Supports patient and team during Pre-Brief, Time-out and Debrief steps of procedures.
