Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Massachusetts is seeking a full-time patient transport aide to join the Surgical Services team. You will perform duties related to patient assistance, patient transportation and cleaning of operating rooms and the general surgical area, supporting positive patient outcomes.

Working on the Day Shift, this role includes responsibilities such as safely transporting patients, assisting OR staff with equipment setup, turnover and room cleaning, and maintaining supplies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year in a healthcare facility as an orderly or transport aide preferred.
• CPR certification required or to be obtained within six weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes operating rooms, ancillary rooms, and offices.
• Assists with equipment setup and safe positioning of patients as needed.
• Transports patients safely and with courtesy.
• Assists with turnover, room setup, and terminal cleaning at day end.
• Maintains inventory of surgical and anesthesia supplies and ensures patient safety.
