Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a per diem patient care associate to uphold safety and quality in the operating room. You will greet patients, orient families, and coordinate with the surgical team to support timely patient transfers and adherence to OR schedules.

The role requires a high school diploma and 0–1 year of related hospital experience, with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and clear communication. Onsite position at 102 Endicott Street.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
• Experience: Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care 0–1 year; OR 0–1 year preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient/family-focused care with cordial greetings to patients, families, and staff.
• Provides hospital and unit orientation information for guests and families.
• Demonstrates awareness of hospital systems, department locations, and procedures.
• Refers patients, families, and others to appropriate resources.
• Independently transports and assists in patient transfers.
• Identifies patients using two approved identifiers.
• Ensures safety during transfers (bedrails, warm coverings).
