Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to bridge the gap between SPD and the Operating Room, ensuring surgeon satisfaction and patient safety. The role emphasizes problem-solving and interdepartmental communication within a perioperative environment.

The ideal candidate will bring CSPDT certification or equivalent, plus several years of SPD/OR experience and familiarity with instrument tracking systems, to support efficient case flow and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited sterile processing or surgical technology course. Online programs that do not offer hands-on instruction or experience will not be accepted. Required or
• In lieu of completion of the course, 5 years' working experience within SPD or the OR required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a close working relationship between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room.
• Anticipate needs and bridge the gap to ensure surgeon satisfaction, case completion, interdepartmental communication, and patient quality care and safety.
