Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the Operating Room and Sterile Processing teams. You will bridge gaps, anticipate needs, and help ensure safe, timely case completion through effective communication and teamwork.

Ideal candidates will have SPD or surgical technology training, several years of peri-operative experience, and CSPDT certification within one year of hire. This on-site role offers growth within a leading regional health system.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Graduate of accredited sterile processing or surgical technology program.
• 5 years' SPD or OR experience in lieu of the course.
• 3 years of peri-operative experience in SPD and OR.
• CSPDT certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a close working relationship between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room.
• Anticipate needs and bridge gaps to ensure surgeon satisfaction and case completion.
• Enhance interdepartmental communication to support patient quality care and safety.
• Utilize problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address challenging situations.
