Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to strengthen collaboration with the Operating Room and ensure efficient case completion. You will anticipate needs, support surgeon satisfaction, and improve interdepartmental communication while upholding patient safety.

Ideal candidates have SPD or surgical tech training or substantial SPD/OR experience, plus hands-on expertise with instrument management systems and case cart handling.

Qualifications

• Experience with instrument management systems (SPM) preferred.
• SPD or surgical technology education or equivalent experience required.
• GED or high school diploma required; hands-on training valued.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate close coordination between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room.
• Anticipate needs and bridge gaps to support surgeon satisfaction and case completion.

Skills

Instrument tracking experience

Education

H.S. Diploma or GED

Graduate of sterile processing or surgical technology course

In lieu of completion of the course, 5 years' SPD/OR experience
