Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA seeks an OR Scheduling Clerk responsible for efficient perioperative scheduling and resource coordination. You will review perioperative data, book/adjust cases, and ensure accurate patient preparation and documentation.

• Able to identify and resolve scheduling issues effectively.
• Deliver superior service and maintain confidentiality per policy.
• Communicate clearly with team and departments regarding changes.

Responsibilities

• Maximize operating room utilization by booking right-type surgeries by priority and length.
• Create, move, cancel, and reschedule cases for multiple service lines; keep schedule updated.
• Perform scheduling functions using current computer systems and software.
• Manage/edit case depot as needed.
• Communicate changes to appropriate personnel and departments.
• Coordinate patient prep and related requirements, including lab tests and Rx, and inform on cost share obligations.
• Submit monthly statistical reports using Excel.
• Assist surgical patients by coordinating dates and communications; write letters as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
