Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the operating room at Abington Memorial Hospital. You will circulate and scrub, support patient education, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.

The role requires prior OR experience; (4) 10-hour shifts are available. Strong communication and adherence to evidence-based practice are essential for success in this environment.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered care and collaboration with patients and care partners.
• Cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Effective communication and delegation within nursing teams.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, care plans, and clinical judgement.
• Ability to educate patients and care partners about condition and treatment.
• Knowledge of medication administration and post-discharge needs.
• Discharge planning and arranging follow-up care.
• Documentation of medical histories, vitals, diagnoses, and treatments.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Active RN license in PA.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients and family, partners with staff to deliver care per Jefferson’s values.
• Identifies learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
• Uses IT to communicate, monitor outcomes, and support ethical decision making.
• Works within nursing and inter-professional teams to ensure safe, respectful care.
