Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an LVN Surgical Tech to support operating room teams in surgeries. You’ll assist the Registered Nurse, prepare instruments, and ensure a safe environment for procedures.

In this role, you’ll handle instrument counts, site preparation, draping, and post-operative dressing applications while maintaining strict sterile techniques and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Less than 1 year in clinical or surgical setting preferred.
• Certification/Registration: LVN license and BLS certification (BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer).

Responsibilities

• Communicate with surgeons to understand needs and prepare instruments before surgery.
• Prepare and sterilize the surgical site and instrument tables.
• Ensure proper function and readiness of surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Count and track sponges, sharps, tools, and equipment per protocol.
• Assist with draping, positioning of patients, and delivery of specimens as required.
• Assist with applying dressings post-operation and prepare tools for decontamination.
• Maintain clean, organized operating room and ensure regulatory compliance.
