Job summary

Baylor Scott and White Health in Texas is seeking a PRN Operating Room Float RN for Day shifts. Self-scheduling and 6:30am–3:00pm start times vary with surgeries, with 3 shifts per 6-week cycle including major and minor holidays.

The RN Float uses BSWH nursing practice model to coordinate patient care, perform assessments, develop and implement care plans, delegate to staff, and ensure safe, efficient patient flow across OR teams in the Hill Country region.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or 2 years of work experience above minimum.
• Licensed as Registered Nurse in Texas (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized patient care plans.
• Coordinate care with the health-care team and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Ensure safe patient transitions and minimize delays in care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and staff.
• Utilize nursing processes to monitor patient outcomes and adjust plans.
