Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Hospital Careers in Fort Lauderdale seeks an experienced RN leader to coordinate and optimize patient care across a busy unit, supervising staff, mentoring nurses, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will oversee daily operations, manage on-call schedules, collaborate with anesthesia, monitor attendance, and participate in care planning rounds to deliver high-quality, family-centered care.

Qualifications

• RN Licensure in Florida or Multi-State eNLC and active throughout employment.
• AHA BLS certification active throughout employment.
• AHA PALS within 1 year of hire and active.
• 2 years of adult/pediatric RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience managing day-to-day operations of a Nursing Unit.

Responsibilities

• Review schedules, create on-call coverage, and align with census fluctuation.
• Coordinate patient flow, collaborate with anesthesia to optimize add-ons and transfers.
• Monitor attendance and ensure compliance with attendance policy.
• Lead huddles and ensure department meets service score targets.
• Audit charts and ensure timely charting and documentation.
