Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System seeks an experienced nursing leader to coordinate and evaluate patient care across the unit, under the Nursing Manager/Director. This role emphasizes clinical leadership, problem solving, and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will oversee staffing, clinician coaching, care planning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration within a Family-Centered Care environment, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida or eNLC in good standing.
• RN clinical experience 2–4 years.
• Experience as a Charge Nurse.
• CPR/BLS per American Heart Association.
• PALS as required by department within 2 years.
• NRP/ACLS per department within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor patient flow from admission to discharge.
• Coach and mentor staff to improve performance and outcomes.
• Lead staffing flexing to census fluctuations with hospital leadership.
• Promote cost containment and ensure appropriate supplies and par levels.
• Participate in nursing governance and unit committees.
• Lead care planning rounds with multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate patient progress and changes in condition to physicians.
• Ensure plan of care is documented in the EHR and aligned with policies.
• Oversee nursing processes: assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation.
• Assist with code blue and rapid response efforts as needed.
