Job summary

BayCare is seeking an OR Care Tech II at Bartow Medical Center in Bartow, FL. The role involves supporting surgical teams, maintaining sterile fields, scrubbing in, and using specialized equipment under RN supervision.

Required: BLS, high school or equivalent, 1 year of patient care or surgical-related experience. On-site, day shift, full-time with some weekend/on-call duties. Great team environment at BayCare Health System.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent required.
• 1 year - Patient Care or Surgical Related experience required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• 2 years - Patient Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care tasks under the supervision of an RN.
• Creates and maintains a sterile field; scrubs and assists in surgical procedures.
• Uses specialized beds, positioning equipment, sterilizers, video equipment, navigation and lasers as needed.
• Functions as a preceptor for new staff.

OR Care Tech II Responsibilities:

Performs direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of and oversight of an RN. Includes all the job responsibilities of a OR Care Tech I, expanding them to an advanced level. Duties include but are not limited to established knowledge of creating and maintaining a sterile field, scrubbing and assisting within the surgical procedure and the use of specialized beds and positioning equipment, as well as sterilizers and specialized video equipment, Navigation, and lasers used with the department. Functions as a preceptor for new staff.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• High School or Equivalent
• Required - 1 year - Patient Care; Or - 1 year - Surgical Related.
• Preferred - Preferred - 2 years - Patient Care.
