Job summary

BayCare Health System in St. Petersburg seeks an OR Care Technician I to support surgical teams under RN supervision. You will assist in the operating room and recovery, manage supplies and sterile instruments, and help prepare patients for procedures.

The role is full-time, evening shift (1:00 PM–9:30 PM) at St Anthonys, with benefits and opportunities to grow in perioperative care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred technical program completion or degree.
• Preferred 1 year of procedural/perioperative in-patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of an RN.
• Prepare patients for surgery and procedures; assist in the operating room and recovery.
• Assist in the operating room during surgery and in the recovery room.
• Care for supplies, equipment and sterilizers; maintain instruments and sterilizers.

OR Care Tech Responsibilities:

Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of and oversight of an RN. Responsible for supplies / equipment and performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to the preparation of patients for surgery / procedures; assists in the operating room during surgery and in the recovery room; and performs support duties to include the cleaning and maintenance of supplies, instruments and sterilizers.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• High School or Equivalent
• Preferred - Technical Program Completion or Degree
• Preferred - 1 year of experience in procedural and/or perioperative in-patient care.
