Job summary

BayCare's Morton Plant in Clearwater is seeking an OR Care Technician I for a full-time day shift (7:00am–3:00pm) with on-call duties. You will support the surgical team by preparing patients and instruments, assisting in the operating room and recovery area, and ensuring supplies and sterilizers are properly maintained.

Requirements include a 1-year patient-care background, a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification. Preferred: specialized education in PCT, LPN, EMT, MA, or CNA.

Qualifications

• 1-year experience in patient care requested.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required

Responsibilities

• The OR Care Technician I assists in direct and indirect patient care tasks.
• Prepares patients for surgery / procedures and assists in the operating room and recovery room.
• Maintains supplies, instruments, and sterilizers; supports the surgical team.

• The OR Care Technician I is a member of the health care team who performs direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of and oversight of an RN.
• Responsible for supplies / equipment and performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to the preparation of patients for surgery / procedures; assists in the operating room during surgery and in the recovery room; and performs support duties to include the cleaning and maintenance of supplies, instruments, and sterilizers.

Required: 1-year experience in patient care

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Requirements:

Specialized education in PCT, LPN, EMT, MA, or CNA
