Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an OR Care Tech II at Morton Plant to support the surgical team. The role covers direct and indirect patient care under RN oversight, including maintaining a sterile field and assisting in procedures.

The position requires BLS and at least 1 year of patient care or surgical-related experience. On-call duties may apply; the work schedule is full-time, with occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year patient care or 1 year surgical related experience.
• Preferred: 2 years patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care tasks under RN supervision.
• Maintains sterile field, scrubs and assists in surgical procedures, and uses specialized beds and positioning equipment.
• Operates sterilizers, specialized video equipment, Navigation, and lasers used in the department.
• Functions as a preceptor for new staff.

OR Care Tech II Responsibilities

Performs direct and indirect patient care tasks under the direction of and oversight of an RN. Includes all the job responsibilities of a OR Care Tech I, expanding them to an advanced level. Duties include but are not limited to established knowledge of creating and maintaining a sterile field, scrubbing and assisting within the surgical procedure and the use of specialized beds and positioning equipment, as well as sterilizers and specialized video equipment, Navigation, and lasers used with the department. Functions as a preceptor for new staff.

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• High School or Equivalent
• Required
• 1 year - Patient Care; Or - 1 year - Surgical Related.
• Preferred
