Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients, performing preliminary testing, and handling measurements.

No optical experience is required; training will be provided to learn pretest equipment and vision screenings, with some weekend/evening shifts. Reporting to the Office General Manager, you will help maintain patient flow, ensure comfort during procedures, and collaborate with the team to deliver a best-in-class vision-care experience for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable and patient, able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented, works closely with the optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about optometry industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
