Job summary

LensCrafters in New York is seeking an Optometric Technician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience by assisting the optometrist during eye examinations and ensuring a high-quality patient experience. You will manage records, communicate clearly with patients, and help maintain a smooth flow in the exam and contact lens areas.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills (internal/external).
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Knowledge of office environment.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Experience in retail and/or optical.
• Experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly with a smile.
• Answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Assist the optometrist with eye examinations and prepare patients for examination.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully and identify special needs.
• Maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA and ensure privacy.
• Support retention and cultivation of exams with NEE calls and follow-ups.
• Place contact lens trial orders and maintain contact lens room.
• Utilize the clinic system for inputting customer/patient data and services.
