Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, handling preliminary testing and measurements.

No optical experience is required as training and tools will be provided to learn the industry and deliver a best-in-class patient experience. Some weekend and evening shifts are required, reporting to the Office General Manager and supporting Doctors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, basic math understood.
• Personable and patient with patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history for prep.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during visits.
• Learn to use pretest equipment for visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other tests.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team for a seamless patient experience.
