Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, conducting preliminary testing, and documenting medical history. Training is provided for those without optical experience.

You will help manage patient flow, ensure comfort, and assist with visual screenings and contact lens training. Weekend and evening shifts are required; you will report to the Office General Manager and work closely with the Doctor(s) to deliver a best-in-class

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions and medical history to prep for the Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth patient flow to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during appointments.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
