Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant in New York to support both onsite and remote eye examinations. You will prepare patients, perform pre-exam tests, and explain steps to patients, acting as a liaison between patients and Optometrists.

You will assist with onsite and remote testing, preauthorize insurance, schedule appointments, and ensure accurate patient records. Training is provided; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience required.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Training provided by the company.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history; enter data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye exams and document results in EMR.
• Assist remote patients through remote eye exam process; initiate video conferencing.
• Transition patient to retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Answer clinical questions and triage ocular emergencies; schedule annual exams.
