Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician in Houston to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for exams, performing preliminary testing, and learning pretest equipment. Training will be provided for those new to optics, with some evening may weekend shifts.

The role emphasizes patient comfort, accurate documentation, and close collaboration with the optometry team to deliver a high-quality vision care experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable and patient, with ability to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about optometry industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patient comfort with office procedures during visits.
• Learn to operate pretest equipment and perform visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide seamless patient experience.
