Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Tallahassee, FL is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient prep, preliminary testing, and measurements. No optical experience required; training will be provided to learn pretest equipment and visual screenings.

Some weekend/evening shifts apply. You will help ensure smooth patient flow, comfort during procedures, and collaboration with the doctor and team to deliver the highest quality vision care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/optical background preferred but training provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment.
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience.
