Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Canal Fulton, OH is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient prep, preliminary testing, and measurements. Training provided; some weekend/evening shifts.

You'll document medical history, manage patient flow, and assist with pretest equipment and contact lens training. Strong people skills and willingness to learn are essential; healthcare or optical background is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personable and patient with patients during screening.
• Willingness to learn about optometry industry.
• Prior healthcare/optical background preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
