Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists and ensure exceptional patient care. You will assist with pre-testing, specialty diagnostics, and managing the doctor’s schedule to deliver efficient visits.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, strong communication, and teamwork, with duties spanning documentation, patient inquiries, and end-of-day wrap-up to maintain a smooth practice flow.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in PC skills, MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation and diagnostic testing.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Maintain patient records in EHR in compliance with HIPAA policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• Conduct end-of-day wrap-up and maintain exam room cleanliness.
