Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists and store team to deliver exceptional eye care in a high-volume retail setting.

You will assist with pre-testing, data collection, and training new contact lens wearers while supporting the booking process and maintaining meticulous records. A medical environment background and CPOT/OT training are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a medical environment supporting doctors.
• Familiar with healthcare technology systems and equipment (EMR systems, retinal cameras, exam room equipment).
• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification (Certified Paraoptometric Technician).

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport with eye exam patients.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in-person and video assisted eye exam appointments as available.
• Train new contact lens wearers on insertion/removal and train teammates as directed.
• Assist with booking process, appointment confirmations, and follow-ups for seamless patient flow.
• Maintain organized exam room, replenish supplies, and ensure cleanliness of equipment.
• Support the doctor with accurate data records and assist in preparing reports for medical professionals.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA/PIPEDA and company privacy policies.
