AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician in Springfield, MA to assist Optometrists in delivering high‑quality patient care. You will perform pre‑testing, scheduling, and basic documentation to support efficient patient flow.

The role requires familiarity with eye care procedures and medical terminology, and certification such as CPO/CPOA/CPOT is preferred. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsabilités

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto reflector, visual acuity, etc.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to visit with Optometrist to determine medical issues and reasons for their visit to provide details to Optometrist.
• May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists, Diagnostic follow‑up visits, and other specialty referrals, and complete paperwork.
• Records and maintain patient records / files in compliance with company, federal, and state policies (HIPAA).
• Responds to patient telephone inquiries regarding medication, treatment, problems referring to the Optometrist as necessary.
• May be required to perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera. Etc.).
• Documents medical findings and communication between Optometrist and patient in Electronic Health Records(EHR) and assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation (participating practices only).
• Checks CPT codes, billings for post op, office visit etc.
