Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with specialty diagnostics, and help manage the appointment schedule for efficient visits.

Responsibilities include patient intake, documentation in EHR, and performing required tests. The role requires familiarity with eye treatment terms and an industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT). On-site work with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye meds.
• Familiarity with medical terms used in eye treatment.
• Industry certification: CPO, CPOA or CPOT.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exams by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Schedule referrals and manage the doctor’s appointment calendar.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Perform diagnostic testing using OCT, visual field, pachymetry, etc.
• Document findings in EHR and assist with related clerical duties.
• Ensure scheduling efficiency through confirmations and recall outreach.
• Handle contact lens insertion/removal classes and inventory.
• Wrap up end-of-day tasks and keep the workspace clean.
