Job summary

AEG Vision in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and patient education, ensuring a high-quality patient experience from start to finish.

You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, schedule appointments, and manage medical records in a HIPAA-compliant environment while collaborating with a team to deliver outstanding eye care.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work under pressure.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co-workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, etc.).
• Document findings in EHR and assist with medical documentation.
