AEG Vision in Minnesota is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and frontline patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, schedule appointments, and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary evaluations, communicating with patients, and helping with post-exam tasks. A detail-oriented, team-focused candidate thrives in a busy eye-care practice.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co-workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (e.g., dilation, topical medications, diagnostic tests).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment as needed.
• May perform refractions and act as a scribe for the Optometrist.
