Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience.

You will handle patient evaluations, document findings, and coordinate referrals while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients before exam (dilation, topical meds, tests).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Schedule referrals and manage appointments for efficient patient flow.
• Maintain patient records in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Operate diagnostic equipment as needed (OCT, visual fields, pachymetry).
• Document findings and communicate between optometrist and patient.
