Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care on-site. You will perform pre-exam evaluations, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage appointment schedules to ensure efficient patient flow.

The role requires knowledge of eye treatment terminology, patient record handling, and teamwork. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunities for growth in a patient-centered practice.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists and other specialty referrals, and complete paperwork.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments, refer to the Optometrist as needed.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation in EHR and check CPT codes/billings.
