Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists in patient care, pre‑testing, and education. You will help manage appointments, perform preliminary evaluations, and assist with diagnostic tests to ensure a smooth, high‑quality patient experience.

The position requires familiarity with eye‑care terminology, HIPAA compliance, and strong communication. On‑site, full‑time role with competitive benefits in a fast‑paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation and testing.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule and patient records (HIPAA compliant).
• Respond to patient inquiries and document in EHR; coordinate referrals as needed.
• Support end‑of‑day tasks and maintain clinic cleanliness and organization.
