AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists with patient care and education. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient, high-quality patient experiences.

Responsibilities include patient evaluations, documentation in EHR, and coordination of referrals and follow-ups, with opportunities to perform additional tasks such as scribing or refractions in a dynamic, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsabilités

• Performs preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist and conducts pre-testing.
• Assists with specialty diagnostic testing and manages the doctor’s appointment schedule.
• Records and maintains patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other policies.
• Responds to patient inquiries regarding medications, treatments, or referrals.
• Performs diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Checks CPT codes and billing related to post‑op and office visits.
• Ensures maximum schedule utilization through confirmations and recall outreach.
• May act as scribe for the Optometrist or perform refractions.
• Other duties as requested by the practice.
