Job summary

AEG seeks an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists by performing pre-testing, assisting with diagnostic testing, and managing the doctor’s schedule to ensure high-quality patient care. You will conduct preliminary evaluations and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA, supporting efficient examinations and excellent patient experiences.

The role requires familiarity with eye care terminology, attention to detail, and ability to work within a collaborative clinical team.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications is required.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Certification in optical field (CPO/CPOA/CPOT) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topical medications, and diagnostic tests.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient, high-quality patient experiences.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
