Job summary

Affinity Eye Care in New York is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists, conduct pre-exam testing, and help manage the patient experience from check-in to post-visit. You’ll handle scheduling, documentation, and assist with specialty testing in a fast-paced practice.

The role requires experience with eye exams, familiarity with eye-care terminology, and certification such as CPO/CPOA/CPOT. On-site work with full-time/part-time options and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Schedule referral appointments with ophthalmologists and other referrals.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry).
• Act as a scribe or assist with refractions when needed.
