Job summary

Triangle Visions Optometry, part of TeamVision within EssilorLuxottica, seeks an Optometric Technician to support eye exams and patient flow. You will assist the doctor, perform pre-exam tests, and help with contact lens services while maintaining accurate records and HIPAA compliance.

Ideal candidates have optometry or healthcare experience, knowledge of optical terminology, and strong communication skills to ensure a smooth patient experience in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• > High school graduate or equivalent.
• > 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• > Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• > Strong communicator and multitasking in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• > Assist with patient care and eye exams, manage patient records and support exam flow.
• < Perform tests aiding the optometrist, including visual acuity, depth/color perception, retinal imaging.
• < Review prescriptions and patient information; collaborate with Optometrist/Optician/Practice Manager.
• < Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of patient records and equipment maintenance.
• < Support contact lens exams and orders; handle inventory and patient orders.
• < Operate appointment book and POS; process sales transactions as needed.
• < Maintain clean, safe work environment and assist with visual merchandising.
• < Explain measurements to patients and answer questions during pre-exam testing.
• < Provide clinical support to Optometrist as needed and ensure proper disinfection of equipment.
