Job summary

LensCrafters in the United States is seeking an Optometric Technician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience and support the optometrist during exams. You will collect medical history, prepare patients, and help link doctor and retail functions with care and accuracy.

This role emphasizes patient service, HIPAA compliance, hands-on testing, inventory management, and friendly communication. High school diploma required; healthcare/retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year strong customer service skills (internal/external).
• Strong communicator and listener.

Responsibilities

• Display a professional image, greet patients promptly with a smile.
• Promptly answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Perform a variety of tasks to assist the optometrist in eye examinations; obtain medical history and prepare patient for examination.
• Review prescriptions and patient information; identify special needs and consult with supervisors when necessary.
• Handle and file all patient records in accordance with HIPAA.
• Support retention and cultivation of exams including making NEE calls and no show call-backs.
• Maintain the contact lens room and inventory; input data into the CIAO system with accuracy.
