Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists with pre-testing, diagnostic testing, and scheduling to ensure efficient, high-quality patient experiences. You will perform preliminary evaluations, manage referrals, and assist with documentation in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires familiarity with eye-treatment terminology and certifications (CPO, CPOA, CPOT), and involves on-site work with competitive hourly wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Schedule referrals and complete paperwork as needed.
• Maintain patient records in EHR per HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication and treatment; assist with clerical duties.
