Job summary

AEG in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors and deliver high-quality patient care. You will assist with pre-testing, diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient visits.

Experience in eye exams and ophthalmic terminology is required; industry certifications (CPO/CPOT/CPOA) are preferred. This is a full-time, on-site role with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• May be required to schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists, Diagnostic follow-up visits, and other specialty referrals, and complete paperwork.
• Records and maintain patient records / files in compliance with policies (HIPAA).
• Responds to patient telephone inquiries regarding medication, treatment, problems referring to the Optometrist as necessary.
• May be required to perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
