Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations and guiding them through pre-exam testing.

The role includes acting as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, with responsibilities for documentation, insurance info, and scheduling, on a part-time basis with a pay range of $17 to $25.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience is required or preferred.
• Optical or healthcare background is beneficial.
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent involved.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history; input into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results.
• Explain preliminary testing to patients; support remote exams as needed.
• Preauthorize insurance and manage appointment books with others.
• Maintain patient flow and respond to clinical questions.
• Ensure clean, safe environment and proper handling of equipment.
