Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and collect medical history and ocular data.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Explain preliminary testing steps to patients; perform tests and document results.
• Support remote exams: pre-testing, remote conferencing, and additional testing as needed.
• Transition patient to retail staff with treatment recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance according to SOPs.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books; contact no-shows and cancellations.
• Maintain patient flow and assist with emergencies and annual eye exams.
• Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, care and handling; place orders when needed.
• Keep equipment and supplies clean and properly stored; ensure nightly coverage.
