Job summary

Talentify's Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant helps ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests, and explaining each step of the process. The role supports ophthalmologists, manages EMR data, assists with insurance preauthorizations, schedules exams, and maintains a compliant clinical environment.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office/business professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and gather pertinent information including Medical History and Ocular Health data into EMR
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations; explain preliminary testing process to patients and document results in EMR
• Support remote eye exams: pre-testing, testing documentation, initiating video conferencing
• Transition patient to a retail associate with doctor's recommendations
• Preauthorize insurance and schedule appointments; manage exam books according to company guidelines
• Maintain patient flow to support doctor effectiveness; answer clinical questions by phone or in person
